Aeronews covers KLM plans for 747 early retirement
Sources in the Netherlands say that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is speeding up the retirement of its remaining Boeing 747, originally scheduled for 2021, to save costs. KLM now has 7 passenger Boeing 747-400s and three 747Fs (Cargo) in commercial service.
